I am an interdisciplinary artist working across sculpture, painting, images, text, and performance.
Informed by a life lived across ruptures, my works often use material tension to create spaces of danger and fragility, carrying the chills of what's been lived and lost in personal and sociopolitical memory. Pain becomes the connective tissue between histories, materials, worlds, and narrators; translucency and opacity are the conditions that let them coexist without dissolving into one another. Art becomes a surgical effort to dissect and suture, mirroring how personal and historical trauma unfolds in its own cycles of destruction and renewal. I work as a culture mechanic, mending the ruptures between past and present, the East and the West; I ask if healing, in all senses of the word, is even transiently possible.
I have exhibited internationally, receiving a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant for a Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild Residency and a Young Ambassador Award. My work has been reviewed in depth by the Smithsonian Institution (archived in the Smithsonian Libraries), FAD Magazine, and China Daily, with features in Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, and CNN. I served as a juror for the 2025 Individual Artist Fellowships of the Delaware Division of the Arts, the Delaware government's branch for arts funding.
